I haven’t had much time to sew lately, but I am hoping to get back into the swing of things soon. I have a whole list of holiday gifts to get made….yikes.
But, here is one little project from this week. It’s the denim Starboard Skirt for my niece Emma and an easy cape and felt hat to match. Not that they will be worn all together, but I took the picture together so I could get them sent off. {Too bad the package is still sitting on my counter to be mailed, sorry Becca….I promise Friday.}
The cape is from this vintage pattern that I thought was darling….
The felt cape is cute and was a 10 minute project….but I want to make a plaid lined one with the peter pan collar like the picture on the right…I am in love with that fabric. Hopefully I can show you soon.

It’s adorable! As for my projects, well, I’m just trying to find the time to sew! I’d forgotten how hard it is to sew with a baby and added to her three-year-old sister is a recipe for exhaustion and very little sewing getting done! As much as I love my nieces and enjoy taking care of them while Mommy and Daddy work, I could wish for more hours in a day!
I just caught the sewing bug. I have been making fat-quarter skirts for my 4 month old daughter for every occasion. So cheap and easy!

Love that cape! I’ve recently become obsessed with vintage patterns and have completed one dress already with some other super cute patterns I hope to start on soon. It’s a pleasure working with these very detailed patterns. I’m old school and sewing/home Ec was a requirement back in the day. I had a very picky home ec teacher to boot so I love vintage patterns.
