This is a bit emabarrasing to admit….but I haven’t yet decorated my house for Thanksgiving. Am I the only one? I hope that there is at least one other person out there who hasn’t. I hardly decorated for Halloween too because we have a one-year old around here who is cute as a button….but is also a wild climbing man. If he sees something up high that he desperately wants, there is no telling what he will do to get it. So, decorating this Fall has been sparse and simple. But at this stage of life, sparse and simple is just fine with me. But a fall garland in 5 minutes….I can do that!
And I really fear for Christmas. I have never had a kid that is this much of a climber. The other two did a bit, but it is nowhere near the same. So, Christmas is going to have to be sparse and simple {and non-breakable} too.
Any advice for the tree? (I can’t even think about it yet….)
Back to our super simple Thanksgiving Garland.
I found a few packs of leaves in the Fall bin that I never opened. (There were plenty that were opened.) So, I opened a pack, sewed about 10 or so together and then sewed some scrap ribbon onto each end (15 inches on each side)…and VIOLA….a five-minute garland that is just enough for Thanksgiving for me. One down and 5 to go for the dining chairs and I am calling it good!

Confession Time: I STILL have some of my Halloween decorations up. (see? So much worse that your confession! hah) Love the garland… It would look super cute on our mantel!
We don’t decorate for Thanksgiving. Too much going on and not enough time around here. And here’s what we did for our climbers–the tree was put in the pack and play where the kids couldn’t get to it! In fact, we use said pack and play more for putting things we don’t want the kids to get to than putting the kids in it!
Well, I haven’t done any decorating, either. My mom used to put the tree in the playpen also.
Pretty! I don’t decorate for Thanksgiving. I didn’t decorate for Halloween either. Don’t worry, the Christmas stuff will come out. 🙂
Ya know, I never really decorate for Halloween either. I just do Fall, then it can stay up longer. Also, I am obsessed with garland. Right now, I have a bunch of fake leaves surrounding a candle display (dangerous? hehe). I might just have to string them up! Thanks 🙂
