I got the final hem done on the dress and it is ready to go for our Holiday events! I am now on the lookout for some knee socks (we are going total 70’s little girl with this look). I found some at Target a while back but they have disappeared (or at least for now). Anyone found any cute white knee socks lately?
I also am in LOVE with that little white blouse. I sewed it from this vintage pattern but I am plugging away at a tutorial for you made out of a tee shirt traced pattern, because I know you all don’t have that pattern (which I think I bought with one of my organs. The thing is I want to get it right so it may take a couple of tries. I will keep you posted….
And for today, I am working on a Christmas tree skirt out a drop cloth. I have been searching for a tree skirt for a couple of years that I love that didn’t cost almost $100 dollars and I still haven’t found one. Why are they so expensive anyway? And since I am cheap, I am making one…..have you seen Miss Mustard Seed’s? She’s where I got the drop cloth idea….it’s absolutely adorable.
Any fun projects this week?
Thanks partly to inspiration from you, my new sewing machine is being shipped! Now, I’ve just got to learn how to make cute things like this jumper! There are some pretty pointelle knee socks at Gap Kids, cable ones at Lands End, and plainer ones at Gymboree.
Thanks Laura…I am going to look online right now!

Oh my goodness it’s so cute! I love the vintage feel of the clothes you make! I am going totally vintage this Christmas with original (circa mid ’80s) Cabbage Patch dolls for my girls and vintage metal Tonka trucks for my son. Best part? They were in my in-laws’ barn, so they are FREE. I am making the Cabbage Patch dolls peasant dresses, and of course matching dresses for the girls. I’ll have a tutorial on the blog tomorrow 🙂
Love this beautiful jumper. such attention to detail! Any projects? Yes, as a matter of fact, I just finished making myself two corduroy skirts! Go look – http://www.jamesandleighann.blogspot.com
The jumper is adorable especially the color and buttons. I can’t wait for the shirt tutorial, it is a classic shirt that will work with so many pieces.
Thanks for sharing.

Thanks Meghan!
I just found your lovely blog. I too love vintage patterns. I have a lot that I collected and used when my daughter was young and now I can use them for my grand daughter! ~ Barbara
