Over the summer I found about 3 yards of this wierd, blue, stretchy, textured fabric (that smelled like moth balls) at a local thrift store. So I bought it for $2, brought it home, and washed it twice.
Then last month I made Grace a back to school skirt with a small piece of it.
The only problem with it is that for some reason Grace thinks she needs to wear it with a “pirate belt”. (With all the sickness I had during the pregnancy Grace watched way too many movies and tv shows—especially Peter Pan and Jake and the Neverland Pirates.) So now most outfits are worn with a sash.
I guess it could be worse. She could be sporting an eye patch. Or a peg leg.

P.S. For those of you who were waiting for the “Flutter Sleeve” tutorial, I added it on to yesterday’s post.

She’s got good taste! Her sash looks great with the skirt. Yes, much better than a peg leg..or a parrot!

I think for your next pirate adventure there SHOULD be a peg leg!
