A couple of weeks ago, on a Saturday, everyone had a project to do. One of us had legos to build, one of us had some sewing to do, one of us had toys to eat and chuck out of a toybox, one of us had a lawn to mow…..and one of us had absolutely nothing to do.
So, my project got put on hold and the afternoon became a little girl’s project.
And for our first sewing lesson, we made a skirt for Rebecca. I ran the sewing machine pedal…but she did the rest, including the rotary cutter (which made me a bit nervous….I won’t lie), putting in the pins, and feeding it through the machine.
And boy was someone proud of herself.
But not as proud as her momma was. A good way to spend a Saturday afternoon.

Wow…the rotary cutter, you’re brave.
I bet Hannah was so serious making the skirt. And I’m betting she’ll probably want to make more.

What a wonderful skill for her to be learning!

Great job on the skirt! Who makes the doll?

It is a Target doll made the same size as an American girl doll. She loves it.
Laura Wilkerson says
she did a great job especially if all fingers are intact!

I love this! I have spent many a Saturday afternoon with my “bored” 8 year old being “creative” (which is her favorite thing). I just wish she would learn one craft well enough to do early on weekend mornings (when I’m still sleeping).
