So at our house we have a lot of these
I love to make them and Grace loves to play with them. It’s a match made in heaven. I didn’t think our love affair with peg people could get any better until the other day when I ran across these at Hobby Lobby:
Houses perfect for our Peggie’s!!!
(Ok…so, they didn’t look exactly like this when I found them but the minute I saw them I knew they would perfect little homes for our collection of Peggies.)
Each house is made from a surprisingly sturdy cardboard/paper mache. They have a removable roof and only cost $2.99.
I bought the only 2 my store had and painted them the next evening (with the help of Gracie). They were inexpensive, easy to make, and are getting well used. It’s my kind of project.
PS—Remember Peggies don’t just have to be for girls. Clickย HERE to see an earlier post with examples of how to make these dainty girls into boys toys.

Liz they are the cutest and what a perfect fit. Feels good to make toys your kids enjoy and treasure (not plastic mass produced items). Good mommy points there.

I love these–and their little houses! Question–how big are they? I’m wondering if they would be choking hazards or not?

Your ‘Peggies’ are practically perfect in every way. You put so much work into them, and they are gorgeous. I love the house, and now it’s given me an idea to make something with the girls.

Meryl,
The dolls in the picture are one and a half inches tall (which is kind of small for little ones) but there are other peg dolls which are 3 inches tall that you can buy.
My little girl is 3 and she plays with both sizes but I wouldn’t really let younger kids play with them. (But I’m a paranoid mom.)
