When I was small (and I mean as a child not before I was 8 months along) I used to wear terry cloth sun suits. And because I’m always having my kids try out things I loved as a child I made Grace some of the same sun suits.
Grace has gotten quite a bit of use out of this one. She calls it her “sun-swim-suit”. Unfortunately, the day it dawned on me to take pictures of her in it she was a giant grump. We had stopped by my parents after a long day of chores and errand running.
And the only thing she was interested in was feigning exhaustion and pleading her case for a snow cone. Honestly. The girl can be so dramatic.

And feigning exhaustion myself I decided these photos would have to do. Sure, they would look a lot better at a carnival, on a sandy beach, or even with Grace facing the camera. But I couldn’t do it. I needed a snow cone too badly.
Apparently my mother-in-law is right. Grace is “just like her momma”.
