Ok, ok, in my brain this was going to be a darlingly cute skirt. Reality—not so much. But the pictures made me laugh hysterically today.
You see this inspiration (it’s no longer there but that is where I got the image from) that I found and pinned and thought was so cute. As a side note, I love to look at Japanese children’s clothing…there are some cute things.
A giant bow on a skirt. Darling. (This was pinned long before I saw giant bows on everyone’s skirts that turned out much cuter than mine…..so bear with me here.)
Turned out to look like this…….
Do you think I made the bow too large? Please don’t answer that. Are you kidding me?
HUGE CRAFT FAIL. What was I thinking making the bow bigger than my daughter’s whole body?
P.S. I made this skirt months ago….and just found it again when I was sorting through some forgotten picture files. I thought you all needed a good Friday chuckle. Or maybe a snort, like what happened at my house. I had the kids laughing hysterically too…and they had NO CLUE what I was laughing at.
Then Miss Hannie walks by the computer and says, “Hey, that’s my skirt.” “Yep. And it’s darling.” I reply.
Please hope I can convince her to not wear it in public.
Oh well.
DID YOU ENTER THE GIVEAWAY YET? DO, IT’S A GOOD ONE.

Hahaha! Okay, that’s a pretty good one. The bow is maybe just a teeeeeeeensy bit big, but honestly, if you scaled it down, it would be so, so stinking cute. But I say you let her wear it as is and bring the same Friday joy that I just felt to everyone who sees her 🙂

Ha! So funny, but at least you can have a good laugh at it. I love the fabric, and I agree with Rachel about tweeking it:)

What if you just turned it around a had her wear the bow in the back??? Then I don’t think it’s too big…ok, maybe just a little too big…;)
Have a great weekend, Elizabeth!!!

Love the fabric, though, and I do like the bow, maybe just a little smaler or in the back?
Thanks for your comment – I was part of the 9/11 clean up, went in the 12th and stayed for two weeks, so I know all about how NY and America reacted to that – this was the very first big attack in Norway – where our policemen don’t wear guns when patrolling.. Have a beautiful weekend. Tone

Thanks for the laugh! I’m glad to know I’m not the only one who does stuff like this. I do think if you made the bow smaller though it would be really cute.

Love the honesty of this post!! But, I have to say- it actually gave me a good flashback feeling! It totally reminds me of watching Little House on the Prairie every day as a child! Nellie Oleson!! I kind of love it. 🙂

I forgot about Nellie’s ginormica bow on her head…maybe I should have moved it there?
BTW…to all wondering…I hacked it off. Whew. I am sure you are all glad I saved my daughter from severe fashion mockery.

I think you could probably pull off the size if she wore the bow on the back! It’s a wee bit big for the front, though, I agree. lol!
