Today’s guest poster is Sophie from The Sisters 4 Say More is More. You have already met one sister Selina who made this darling outfit….and now it’s Sophie’s turn. Sophie is sister #2 and a fashionista just like the rest of the bunch…wouldn’t it be fun to belong to that family?
Here’s Sophie….
Guys, I am a LAZY bum. I am pregnant and feel so uncreative lately. Not to mention I am totally a sewing amateur (especially compared to the fabulous things that regularly appear on this fabulous blog) When I say anyone can make something I make it really is true and generally takes less than an hour… very basic is what I generally stick to.
Needless to say I am honored to be guest posting and was SO excited to get my package of vintage goodies.
I have been wanting to try some no sew flower clips. Disney at Ruffles and stuff had a great tutorial and it was really easy too!
I cut out tons of circles in each of the fabrics.
Then I cut a circle out of felt added a bit of hot glue and clipped a banana clip on to it.
I added two circles at a time following these directions.
Cute little pig tails!
For the second project–a bow head band–I hot glued the sides inside out. Then I turned it right side in and stuffed it with my scrap fabric to give it fluff. I folded it in half and wrapped a piece of fabric around the center.
I attached it to this dollar store headband and Ta DA! done. And NO SEWING!
I then decided to make a bag out of the place-mats… A cute summer tote is an essential accessory for a one year old, right?!
I cut up one to make the straps and added the super cute rick rack.
Then I attached the straps to the top, flipped the place-mat inside out and sewed the sides together.
(Imagine the bag with the cute flower buttons at the base of the front two straps… my little one “misplaced” them)
Totally stylin!

I’d say this is far from lazy & uncreative. 😉 I love the flower clips, going to make some from my scraps. The place mat turned bag is so cute too.

I adore that placemat bag!!! Oh, I want to run out to find some vintage placemats so that I can have one, too! Oh, yeah, and maybe make one for my daughter…;)
Wonderful job!

The giant bow headband is my favorite…I love making my little girl wear stuff like that.
Although…I just took her out of the car where I discovered white feathers all over the seats…she said her feathers “blowed up”…and all that was left of her giant feather hair clip was the clip. Everything else looked like a terrible bird incident.
ANYWAYS….love the bow, and everything else. Thank you so much for joining us!
