I used this vintage pattern….
(sorry for the crappy picture–the pattern itself has a super fuzzy image)
to make this vintage jumper.
I found this vintage 1950’s fabric panel at an estate sale last summer–and fell in love with it. I had been holding/ hoarding it for a year, until I spied this pattern and thought that it would be darling together. I had some green fabric (binding left over from the Doll quilts), turquoise piping that matched perfectly….and some darling green vintage buttons that worked too.
I also added some white ric rac to the bottom to mimic the wavy lines on the panel, and I really love it.
The scene on the bottom is my favorite part. The pattern itself was a size 4 but it is still a bit wide for my little girlie ….which I am actually kind of excited about because she can wear it next year too. Yippee for two summers of cute vintageness!
Lesson of the day: Do Not Be Afraid to cut your vintage fabric. It looks so much cuter as a jumper than a panel.

That jumper is so beautiful! The ric rac at the bottom was the perfect touch. So do you two just sew all day? Every day? I don’t know how you whip things out this fast!

Or maybe I’m just a very slow seamstress 😉

It probably looks like a lot because we only show finished products….ha ha. But I don’t get to sew as much as I’d like to. If I even get an hour in a day (during naptime) then it’s a good sewing day. But that doesn’t happen everyday.
This dress was cutting one day, and sewing the next….because it was an easier pattern. Other dresses are like a week long process.
Sorry, you probably didn’t want a novel in response…..:)

Sewing all day everyday…that sounds like something I’d like…oh, or even a week long vacation to a fabric market where we shop all day and sew all night…now that would be awesome…we could get so much done.
I love this fabric and this jumper. It’s a perfect match.

Let’s go! After we win the lottery…..’cause that’s not happening any time soon on a $5 budget.
