Grace loves all things pink.
And for awhile now I’ve been hoarding yards of hot pink fabric that my grandmother bought years and years ago to back a quilt with. Finally last week I decided that it was time to start using it.
And came up with this:
*1 Simplicity Pattern (#7903) from 1977
*1 Fat Quarter of crazy turquoise and pink floral (from a cut of fabric Elizabeth and I found out thrifting)
*1 long piece of ivory colored vintage lace (also picked up at a local thrift shop)
*3 silver and ivory vintage buttons (2 for the front and 1 for the back)
*A little less than 1 yard of my grandmother’s hot pink quilting fabric
It’s bright, it’s pink, it’s vintage and it will be a perfect summer dress for Grace.
PS: My favorite part of this project is that everything from the pattern to the supplies were vintage items. (I lOVE making old things new again. I seriously love it.)
PS: Gracie’s favorite part of this project is that her dress is pink…and so was the snow cone she had after her pictures taken. She giggled all the way home. When I asked her what was so funny she said, “I’m just so happy.” Me too Grace. Me too.

darling! i love vintage patterns! but i secretly get mad when someone else finds a good one that i didn’t find first! i hope and pray that i am the only one that stalks my GWs pattern bin and sheet department. if i see anyone lurking in my “areas” i think about hitting them with my cart! i won’t of course… but i want to! the other day this lady was in line in front of me and she had in her cart a huge plastic case (like that a bedding set would come in) filled with fabric and notions and buttons and i was soooo jealous! its sick! i hope she makes the most of it because i wanted it sooooo bad! AND IT WAS ONLY 3 BUCKS!!! but gracie’s dress is darling! so now im happy again!
