Here are 4 fast and easy Cinco de Mayo ideas for a spur of the moment fiesta:
#1. A festive headband.
Sure, it’s big. Ok, so it royal wedding huge but she can pull it off. (When your only two you can pull almost anything off). Besides, it’s Cinco de Mayo after all so things should be big and bright and fun.
And the best part is it’s disposable. (It is made from strips of tissue paper held together by a twisty tie from a loaf of bread.) Here’s how to make it—take some tissue paper strips and tie them in the center with a twist tie. Now take the ends of the twist tie and fasten the pile to a plain head band. Finally fluff up the tissue paper to look like a massive flower. The end.
(Until tomorrow morning when you pull off the twist tie and have her old headband back again.)
#2. Fiesta Flowers Lollipop Style:
Take a pile of 6 sheets of tissue paper. Cut them out in a circle about 5 inches wide using pinking shears. Punch a hole in the middle. Stick a tootsie pop through the hole. Fluff up the tissue paper. Tape the bottom side of the flower to the Tootsie Pop so it doesn’t slide off. You’re done.
#3. Corn and Black Bean Salsa:
In a bowl mix:
1 can black beans (drained)
1 can corn (drained)
2 cans Rotel Tomatoes Original (mostly drained)
1 small diced red OR white onion (I prefer the red)
Now..eat it with chips.
(Unless you want to get fancy. In which case you can add half a bunch of cilantro chopped or the juice from half a lime or a small can of green chilli’s…hey, it’s your salsa do what you want.)
#4. The world easiest Non-Alcoholic Margarita’s:
Go get a bottle of this…
So there you have it. 4 last minute ideas for a festive fiesta.

I love the royal wedding flower-hat! I wonder how ridiculous I would look wearing one? She sure pulls it off, though!

I am your newest follower. When I saw that hat on your daughter at the Shabby Nest, I knew I had to stop by. I am so glad that I’m not the only one putting things like that on my daughter’s head. You should have seen the fascinator she had on last Friday for the occasion. It was absolutely over-the-top, and she’s only one! Will you daughter have a fascinator on tomorow for the Derby? I know mine will! Have a great weekend!
