A couple weeks ago I signed up for a blogger’s photography class by Emilie. The class was this last weekend and it was amazing. I really needed some more help getting all the way off auto and all the way to manual mode on my camera. Really. Needed. Help.
And I am so glad I went. I learned a lot more about light–specifically how to find and make soft directional light–and how to make your blog photos look great in MANUAL mode.
Here’s the picture that we staged and then took in manual mode…..straight out of the camera. A bit dark…
Aren’t those baby shoes the cutest things ever? I seriously think they are adorable.
And here is the after……with a lot of help from Emilie. But, wahoo! I did it. Once. Now I just have to practice.
Pretty amazing stuff. And this picture is straight out of the camera too. No photoshop. Althought she did teach some easy and amazing whitebalance photoshop tricks that I am already using.
I wish it were so easy all the time….if only I had Emilie over my shoulder at my beckon call. All my photos might look this amazing.
And if you want to see Emilie……go HERE. Her workshops are well worth it. You will learn so much. And I thought it was very reasonably priced. Very. But hurry. I am certain that her June session will sell out fast.
P.S. Her blog is full of amazing photos and even photo tips in case you don’t live close.

Wow. That is very very cool. I’d love to take a photography class. I wonder if she does house calls? 🙂
