Over the weekend I finished up what I thought would be Gracie’s Easter dress. This is it: I like it. It’s simple and classic and an ENTIRE SIZE TOO BIG!!!! (I guess that is what I get for doing all my sewing while the person I am sewing for is asleep.)
The pattern (one I have that is so old it has a patten number instead of a copyright date) is a size 2. And although Grace is almost 3 she is tiny and usually wears size 2 clothing. I thought it would be a perfect fit…but…I thought wrong. It was still TOO BIG!!!
Good thing I have this…
…some liquid refreshment to enjoy as I start cutting out a new and different and even smaller Easter dress for Grace.
Heaven help me–I’ve got one week left to come up with a dress and with my luck I’ll probably need some more of these before the week is over.

AH, it’s so frustrating when that happens! But on the bright side, at least it’s too big instead of too small and maybe it can be her Easter dress next year!

It came out adorable though!!!
That was me yesterday trying to madly pump out an Easter dress for my eldest…one down. One to go…
Good luck 🙂

It is so pretty, shame about the sizing. I love the pattern too, the collar is adorable. I think may be getting enough confidence to make a dress for the girls this summer (thanks to your clever blog)x

Hi!
I browsed through your dresses section and noticed that you like to make classic and vintagey dresses for your daughter! So like me! I really like your white dress and the Madeline one and your latest. I have a thing about peter pan collars.
Do chance by my blog and you’ll know what I mean. I will be following you!
