My kids think they are hilarious in their “The Pigeon Finds A Hot Dog” inspired t-shirts.
At our house we love mo willem’s pigeon books–all of them—but we especially love the interactions between the stubborn pigeon and the persistent little chick. (Mostly because it reminds me of daily interactions between Simon and Grace.)
Awhile ago I thought it would be funny to make my two silly kids a set of pigeon and chick t-shirts and then when I saw that the sewing maven over at No Big Dill had a storybook inspired fiesta going on I decided that now was the time.
I drew out the birds and hot dog on some scratch paper, traced the patterns onto plain colored cotton fabric backed with Heat-and-Bond, and ironed them on. Finally I stitched around the edges with black thread. Easy peasy….
…and they love them…except for Grace, who wants a hotdog on her shirt too…

LOVE THIS! We are HUGE Mo Willems fans in our house…doesn’t get much better than him for funny, newly released books. (I say that because nothing can compare to the classics in my opinion). But Mo Willems ROCKS! We might just own his entire collection.
These shirts are just DARLING!
