I love white for Spring and Summer. I just do. I actually made this skirt last Spring….but it was way to big for Hannie to wear. Well, this year it fits perfectly, which makes me very happy.
I made this skirt the exact same way I made the Pink Tulle Ruffle Skirt, but used white cotton (kona…my fave as you probably guessed) for the skirt and the ruffles. I serged the edges of the ruffles so they wouldn’t fray, but if you don’t have a serger you can always use pinking shears or a pinking rotary cutter (which is a favorite tool as well). These skirts are not hard to make….they do take a bit of time to ruffle, but I promise they are well worth it. Everyone will ask where you bought it. And the texture is just yummy!
Here is the tutorial for the Pink Tulle skirt and now the cotton ruffle skirt….(the tulle skirt is darling too and Hannah still wears hers ALL.THE.TIME) Good luck….and happy sewing!
P.S. I would love to see pictures if you make one.
P.P.S. I am kind of in love with “vintage-i-fying” photos.
