For the next two weeks this is my charge:
“An ideal homemaker makes the best use of her time and energy by being efficient so that she is able not only to keep up with her housework, but she is able to be a companion to her husband and a friend and teacher to her children. She is able to pursue some personal interests which further contribute to their happiness and development.”
—Ms. Hoole
Right now Gracie is sleeping and Simon is playing so I’m off to clean up and reset the preschool room for tomorrow (instead of trying out a new dress pattern I bought over the weekend…a project which would be much more fun albeit less efficient than cleaning up the preschool).
*PS—It is my week for the carpool again and I’ve been cleaning out the van bus while waiting for the kids to come out of school (as I said I would weeks ago). This really is a great plan and I think applies to my two weeks of “meeting the minute“. I get a good parking spot, the kids are picked up safely and on time, and my van is clean…really clean. It’s a triple win.
If only all my tasks were so easily tackled.
