Today instead of fighting the crowds and snatching up deals I’m purging my house from unneeded items. That’s right—while every mom in the country is out buying toys I’m here at home throwing ours away. Does that make me a grinch? I hope not because today and tomorrow I am determined to work through the 3rd, 4th, and 8th points in Ms. Hoole’s list of “A Place for Everything” which are:
“Third: KEEP NEAT CLOSETS AND DRAWERS…I hope that you realize that the neater you are the more space you save.”
“…the fourth point: HAVE THE COURAGE TO THROW AWAY. Be certain of an item’s future value before saving it, and then put it where it belongs….When in doubt, throw it out!”
“The eighth…item on our list is: TAKE CARE OF CHILDREN’S TOYS. As children reach an age where they enjoy more complex toys,…it is helpful to keep them…separated according to the type in these individual containers….Allow your children to play with the contents of one container at a time and then teach them to pick up the contents before getting into another toy bag or can.”
Our recycle bin is full and I have a load ready to donate but, my works not done. So it’s back to the mines…I really could use amy own personal cleaning crew about now…or at least a soda…

I think that’s great! It’s so easy for the toys to pile up. With my three lil ones, I could’ve opened up a toy store–until I had a yard sale and got rid of 80% of their stuff. We are all happier for it, so I’m with you–less clutter is definitely worth it!
