The chapter title for the current and upcoming week of my experiment is entitled “SOME ARE ALMOSTERS“. Unfortunately, try as I might, I’ve been the poster child for the almosters this week.
Here’s a sample of what Ms. Hoole defines as an “Almoster“:
“…They just don’t quite make it…Their intentions are good…They spend lots of time and energy, but they don’t quite reach their goals, they don’t quite get the job done…This results in frustrations, wear and tear on the nerves…..”ect. etc. etc.
So, that sounds about right. This week: I was almost on time to church, I almost finished the book for book club, I almost finished the new place mats I wanted to take to the boutique this weekend, I almost finished waxing the van before it started to rain, I almost got dressed everyday, and I almost made it on time to a Thursday night meeting, I almost posted a $5 Friday item on Friday, I almost put away the pile of laundry currently taking over my couch, I almost returned all my emails, I almost finished steam cleaning the walls and blinds, I almost followed my weekly dinner menu, and I almost stuck to my goal of drinking no more than 32 oz. of soda a day. Almost. But not quite.
As week one is drawing to a close I almost feel like I should hire me a real homemaker.
Oh well…at least this week I wasn’t seen wearing a pair of ill fitting checkered pants. Oh, wait. I was. Or should I say I almost wasn’t?
