This afternoon I noticed that my favorite summer flowers have lost their spark.
I love these little ladies! We live in an area where NOTHING will grow so planting and maintaining our yard had been a challenge until we accepted the fact that yes, we do live in a desert and have begun to plant accordingly. Before I buy any plants now I ask myself…”Would I see that in Frontier Land?” and if the answer is yes then I buy it. But this post isn’t about my gardening woes…
As I said I love these flowers and I’m sad to see them begin to fade. It means the end of summer with it’s swim suits, and sprinklers, and lingering daylight. All the fun, the heat and the sunshine. And I wonder did we enjoy it enough?
But then my thoughts turn to afternoons with everyone warm in the house, tasty soups, the upcoming holidays, baked goods, and hours of evening crafting and I think that maybe I am ready for the change in seasons. Tomorrow I may even begin to break out the Halloween decorations.
It’s time…let autumn begin.
