I think Liz and I were on the same wave-length today–although I am sharing my crafting space. I am loving on a new baby right now, but I have gotten quite a few questions about where I craft. I am not lucky enough to have my own craft room (maybe someday?) and since I sew almost daily, I needed to find a place that could be permanent but out of the way–the kitchen table just wasn’t cutting it anymore. So, for all of you in my same situation….here’s what I did.
I looked on ksl.com (a local site like craig’s list) and found a computer armoire for 75 dollars. Score. I spray painted it a robin’s egg blue, sanded and then stained some of the edges. And then I loaded it up. I put my sewing machine and serger in it so they have a permanent home. There are also shelves inside for baskets of fabric and other notions and I love that I can just clean it up by shutting the doors. (Hence, no inside pictures….it’s a royal disaster at the moment.)
I also have a small bookshelf that I repurposed from another room to store other buckets and jars of more notions…the rest are located in the armoire.
See…you don’t have to have a craft room. Just start looking for your own computer armoire.
Can you see my fabric scraps all over the floor?
