A friend asked me for a photo of this wall so I decided to post it for her on the blog with a description of what it is.
This is the project that started it all for me…
The wall in my entry way.
I had some photos to hang but didn’t like the arrangement. I talked over the framing in of the photos with my husband and one night when I had returned home from my night class ViolA! there it was just like I had imagined it! (Thanks again Jon.)
So just like that we started making things—everything from over sized mirrors to fixing up old discarded shelves and furniture. I learned all about paints and stains and fell in love with my sander.
Then came the sewing with all the fabric and textures and possibilities. And I was hooked.
I like making things. To me it’s like the best hobby. Crafting should be fun. It should help make our lives more fun and our surrounding more enjoyable. When it stops making mine and my family’s life better I’ll stop. As I should, but for now I love it. And I love that my husband helped and continues to help turn my ideas into realities.
So here’s to crafting and to the project that started it all.
(And here’s to me saving for a new camera so all my pictures don’t come out as crappy as this one.)
