These are some dish towels I recently made for a bridal shower.
I bought the dish towels at the local dollar store for a dollar each and then used scraps from my bin to make the flowers. (Which brings the total for this project to—$5 plus tax.)
Just grab a dish towel, cut some fabric in the shape you want and stitch it on. That’s all. I don’t heat and bond it, stitch around the edges, iron anything, or even use pins. I just plop down the shapes and and start sewing. (I leave about 1/4 inch seam allowance around the fabric pieces.)
Yes, the edges of the design are raw and they will fray with washing. The good thing about this is that the fray makes the flowers look even cuter.
So, that’s it. I bundled these 5 towels together with some dish soap and a scrubber and had a useful gift to give that cost less than $10. And less than $10 fits right in with my budget.
Happy sewing.
