This summer I’m working on redecorating my kids bedrooms. I want their rooms to be fun and functional but because their likes and interests change often I need their decorations to be affordable and versatile. That’s why I like this project.
These are some pictures I made for Gracie’s room. They were very easy and within our budget.
Here’s the supply list:
#1. Frames purchased at Wal-Mart for $1.97 a piece. (The frames came with the mat which was an added bonus.)
#2. 3 pieces of 12″x12″ grey and black scrapbook paper I had in my scrapbook bin.
#3. 1 package of scrapbook embellishments. (I bought these on clearance from a local craft store called Roberts.)
Then to assemble I…
1. Took the back off of the frames and cut the scrapbook paper to fit.
#2. Used scotch tape (yes, scotch tape…I was out of glue that day) to tape the embellishments onto the scrapbook paper.
#3. Insert the scrapbook paper with image into your frame.
#4. Wipe off finger prints.
#5. Hang up and enjoy!
It was so easy. I made 5 of them all together and it took less than an hour from start to finish. They are cute for now and when we out grow this style I can reuse the mat and frames for something else because of their simple style. And the best part is the total price for each picture was less than $3!
*If you’re not into scrapbook embellishments use bottle caps, candy wrappers, buttons, etc. for the focus of your picture. They all turn out great as well.
*I just looked at Wal-Mart on line and found that you can buy a 10 piece set of these frames,in various sizes, in a similar style for under $20.
*I want to hang a vinyl quote or saying over the top of her mirror and inbetween the stars with black lettering but I’m at a stand still. Any ideas?
