Today we are taking part in Riley Blake Designs Flannel tour…and it is absolutely perfect timing. The youngest was in desperate need of some new lounge-wear because his old ones were half-way up the calves (more like capris!) and only 3/4 sleeves. But he would still insist on putting them on every night. I even tried to hide the last too-small pair at the top of his closet and he still found them.
But how could I blame him…..I love soft flannel lounging wear too…especially because the more you wash them, the softer they get. So, a new pair of cuddly jammies it was!
I love orange and blue…so I used the orange honeycomb flannel from Riley Blake Designs, a vintage pattern and an afternoon later….some new jammies! I actually sized up the vintage pattern, thinking that I would make something that was swimming on him—but I guess I haven’t measured my kiddos in awhile because the top was a perfect fit. The pants ended up WAYYYY too long…but instead of cutting them off, I did a 2.5 inch hem on them so hopefully they will last a little longer this time and I can just let down the hem as we go along.
The blue buttons are my favorite part, I think they are the perfect contrast to the orange. I love blue and orange together…and apparently use them a lot in jammies for boys 😉
Here is the link to head over to read about all the other things that you can do with flannel with all the bloggers in the tour! There are some great projects in there….
Be sure to see them all!

PS Any fun sewing plans for over the weekend? I am crossing my fingers for some nice weather to take some pictures of some things I have sewn….and then working on Halloween costumes, and hopefully even some time to cut out a dress for me that I have been dying to try.

I love the combo of blue and orange too! Love the jammies!
This weekend will be spent cleaning and putting the house back together after some remodeling that we had done. (We had a leak under our foundation and so since the flooring had to be replaced anyway, we decided to go ahead and do the tile we have been talking about doing for a while.) Plus we added some cabinets to the kitchen and a door between the office and dining room. We also had the pantry ripped out and a new one put in to accommodate a new refrigerator that we got a killer deal on, but that was about 3/4 inch too big for the existing space. There is dust and dirt everywhere and I have no idea where anything is, but at least it can all finally be put to rights this weekend!

I love these jammies so much! They look great on your son too.
Orange is so happy.
I plan to finish up some project this weekend too!
The photographing and writing about it takes so much longer, though, doesn’t it?
