We had a seventh birthday party around here a month or so ago. And the birthday girl decided she wanted to have an American Girl Doll tea-party luncheon with a few friends.
I wish I were great about big elaborate parties…..but I am not. I just do simple. So, we got out our fancy dishes and still had a great time with tiny sandwiches, tiny cupcakes and raspberry tea (which the girls didn’t love all that much….).
We did do one simple crafts for all of our little dollies: American Girl Doll Tutus.
(I kind of feel silly even writing a tutorial for this….but I did…..because I am lame.)
Supplies:
1/4 inch elastic (I sewed 8.5 inches in a circle.)
20 pieces of tulle (I cut them 8 inches long which worked perfectly.)
And here’s what you do…
Repeat all the way around with the 20 pieces and you are done!

could you make a navy blue skinny belt? With a leather strip and leather paint?

you can totally turn an adult belt into a toddler belt. that is if you can find a blue skinny adult belt. on my boho challenge i sewed on leather (more like pleather) and cut it as well. it was way easier then i thought. just trim the side that has the holes and then buy a leather punching kit. im pretty sure they have them at most hardware stores. good luck hope you are able to find one. i will keep my eyes open as well:) cannot see whatcha making!!

They have lots of cute skinny belts at target. Can’t remember if they have navy. I bet you could just cut an adult belt to size

I knew immediately where I could find one (or two!) and I was correct!! Lands End. It is not a thrift find or creative make but you will get quality and great service! (Can you tell I am a fan?) (Links didn’t appear to be working so deleted above.) Sorry and good luck!

My friend started her own company a few years ago because baby and toddler belts were non-exsistent, One Little Belt – – and look, she has a navy one: http://www.etsy.com/listing/72663350/sale-baby-girls-belt-navy-faux-patent

Amazon has adult navy skinny belts that you could trim down

I know sew together has a tute on making skinny ribbon belts if you want to go the diy route. You might be able to modify it to use a strip of leather.

I saw some at our Target in the women’s section (where they have the scarves and hats). Lots of different colors. Good luck! It’s hard when you have a vision and you can’t find the ‘one’ thing.
